About ServiceStamp
The UK's car service history specialists.
We started ServiceStamp because a car's maintenance record says a lot about how it's been looked after, yet in the UK it's surprisingly easy to lose, fudge or never write down in the first place. Paper books go missing, stamps fade, and a few owners later nobody is quite sure what was done or when. The good news is that for a lot of cars the records still exist in manufacturer systems, and that's where we come in.
Why we started ServiceStamp
Ask anyone selling a used car about its service history and you will usually hear one of these:
- “Full service history”
- “The book's in the glovebox somewhere”
- “My mate did it, he's a mechanic”
None of those answers tells you much. A stamp in a book is only as good as whoever held the stamp, and once the book is lost there is nothing to show at all.
Since around 2012, franchised dealers have logged the work they do in the manufacturer's own systems. Those records don't fade or go missing with the glovebox. They just weren't easy for an ordinary buyer to get at.
ServiceStamp gets at them. Enter a registration or VIN and we search manufacturer dealership networks across the UK and Europe for every record held against that car, then put it alongside the MOT history in one report.
What we're trying to achieve
Our mission is a records check that helps used-car buyers make better decisions, by improving the information available on a car's maintenance and service history, whether the work was done by a manufacturer's dealer or an independent garage.
Manufacturer records
Official dealership service records for 39 brands, model year 2012 onwards, searched by registration or VIN.
Owner-documented records
A ServiceStamp Service Book, free for your first car, that any owner builds from photos of their paper book and invoices, and a community of owners and enthusiasts whose documented records every paid check now searches.
Independent garages, next
Most UK cars are serviced outside the dealer network at some point. Bringing those records into the same check is the next step, and the one that completes the picture.
